Centre holds two Manufacturers Closed Sales in one day

The Fleet Auction Group (FLAG) recently held two Manufacturers Closed Sales in one day. The remarketing firm ran sales for both Honda (UK) and SEAT UK on the same day at their Leicestershire based complex.

The day started with a sale for Honda at 10.30am, with an entry of 145 vehicles from across their model range. The first of a number of Honda sales planned with FLAG for 2012 saw 50 Honda dealers turn out, and with what auctioneer Steve Clarke described as “positively brisk bidding from start to finish.” The 2-hour sale finished at 12.30 with a 100% conversion for an average of 105% of CAP Clean.

The second sale, for SEAT UK, started at 2.30pm with 130 vehicles entered. 30 SEAT dealers attended the busy sale, with a further 14 dealers bidding on-line via FLAG’s internet auction system, FLAGCAM. Steve Clarke says that once again bidding was keen from both the auction floor and from on-line buyers, converting over 80% for 102% CAP Clean.

“The challenge,” Steve Clarke comments, “was to ensure both Honda and SEAT had ownership and personalisation of the centre for the period of the auction, without compromising either sale in any way. The logistics of the day were planned well in advance, to ensure that, as one sale was happening, the other sale prepared to unfold seamlessly behind the scenes. Just as the Honda sale finished, the last SEAT vehicle was lined up in the viewing hall. Over the next hour, whilst the Honda dealers were signing for their purchases, the centre slowly morphed into a SEAT branded Closed Sale.”
